Mission Statement:

GenderSpark is a Detroit-based team of grassroots activists working for the acceptance, safety, and rights of transgender and gender-variant people in Southeast Michigan, by educating youth, adults and communities, and by providing resources for transgender people and their allies.

 

Who Are We:

Dedicated to providing resources and education about gender to the Southeast Michigan community, GenderSpark is a non-hierarchical organization of local activists. Formed entirely of Detroit and Metro Detroit-area youth and young people, GenderSpark is staffed entirely by volunteers, passionate about community change.

 

What We Do:

GenderSpark provides a variety of free trainings, workshops, and lectures that address a wealth of issues related to gender. In the near future, we hope to launch our 24-hour SparkLine: a resource and crisis intervention hotline designed specifically to meet the needs of people in Southeast Michigan.
