GenderSpark Objectives:
- Use a diversity of curriculum, activities, and educational strategies, occasionally supplemented with educational videos and other media, to educate youth, adults and communities in Southeast Michigan on issues of trans rights, feminist thought, and the basics of trans identity and culture.
- Provide resources and ongoing technical support for students and faculty members in the Detroit/Metro Detroit area who are interested in forming LGBT activism or support groups/GSA clubs on their campus, or in revitalizing/developing pre-existing groups of this nature.
- Produce a monthly newsletter publication with information regarding gender rights and issues pertinent to Southeast Michigan, current events relevant to gender, and internal updates about GenderSpark, as an organization.
- Maintain a 24-Hour SparkLine, providing resources, information, and crisis intervention. This SparkLine would provide information about GenderSpark as an organization, direct callers to local (and other) resources about gender, and provide crisis intervention services.
- Open one business meeting per month to any interested community members, providing an open forum for those individuals to listen, actively participate, provide insights or give suggestions.
